‘Paranoid’ Software Startup Nyotron Raises $10M

The 7-year-old company was founded by white hat hacker Nir Gaist.

Nyotron’s Paranoid system deploys a Behavior Patterns Map (BPM) to detect against Zero Day attacks, malware, Trojan horses, and other cyber security threats. The company’s product is currently available for the enterprise market, but they are also developing products for servers and mobile devices. The firm is also working on a digital forensics product.

This funding round was led by Meir Shamir’s company Mivtach-Shamir Food Industries Ltd. that invested $7 million. The remaining $3 million will come from existing investors. That makes the total funding raised by the company since it’s 2008 inception $15.5 million. Nyotron’s earlier funding rounds raised $2 million in February 2013 and another $3.5 million prior to that.
